Settling into a new country as a family is a wonderful adventure. But it also means leaving a whole world behind: your friends, your neighbors, the grandparents next door, your kids' school buddies, the mom who could always cover the 4:30 pickup.

Once you're there, the excitement of the first few days quickly gives way to a harder reality: you don't know a soul. Weekends stretch on, the kids beg for friends, and the precious everyday tips, the good pediatrician, the Wednesday activity, the neighborhood party, flow through circles you're not yet part of.

The village was there. It just needed rebuilding.

We realized that dozens of expat families were going through exactly the same thing, often just a few streets apart, without ever meeting. The answer wasn't yet another social network, but a simple, caring tool to reconnect the families of a single neighborhood.
